Brass has anchored Indian homes for generations. It is an alloy of copper and zinc, prized for its warm shine and its everyday role in storing water and grain. Our antique brass items range from big old storage vessels down to small, hand worked lottas, sourced from estate collections and family workshops rather than mass production.
Every piece passes through the same process: a wash to lift decades of soot and oxidation, an inspection under raking light for hairline cracks or old repairs, and a final hand polish that restores the metal's glow without stripping its age. Dents, solder marks and worn patina bands are never restored beyond recognition. They are simply left as the years left them. If you are searching for vintage brass items with real history behind them, this is where to start.

If copper is not quite what you had in mind, our brass line covers antique vessels and lottas, sourced and restored with the same care as every copper piece here.

This antique brass vessel is one of the largest pieces in our brass line. A wide bellied storage vessel with a high mirror shine and a fluted, conical base, the kind once kept in a store room or courtyard rather than on a kitchen shelf. We carry a small, rotating stock of these big old vessels, each hand polished to bring back its shine without erasing the dents and solder marks that come from decades of real use.

This antique brass lota is the everyday water pot of the traditional household, and this larger size was kept filled by the doorway or near the puja room. Ours have been in circulation for years, and it shows in the honest two-tone patina near the base, where hands and water have worn the brass down to a warmer, coppery tone over time. We preserve that band rather than repolish it away, since it is the clearest sign of how long the piece has actually been in use.

A smaller lotta, but the most detailed piece in this set. The entire belly is worked in repoussé with a procession of mythological figures, hammered out by hand rather than cast. The dark, almost bronze-like finish is original age, not a stain, and the relief work stays sharp enough to make out individual figures and their poses.
Three things we get right before a piece ever reaches you: where it comes from, what condition it is really in, and how easy it is to look after.
Estate & workshop finds
Pieces are bought from family estates, old storerooms and closing brassware workshops. We deal only in genuine old brass items, never bulk cast to look old.
Honest, unhidden wear
Old repairs, dents, and worn patina bands are disclosed rather than smoothed over. What you see in the listing photos is what arrives at your door.
Simple upkeep, forever
Every piece ships with a short care note. A mild wash and dry cloth is usually all brass needs to keep its shine for decades.
Age and craftsmanship can be judged by eye. Composition cannot, so we back our word with proper checks before a piece is listed.
Large or high-value brass pieces are checked for their true alloy composition before they are listed. A simple copper-to-zinc reading confirms genuine brass, flags modern fillers or replating, and helps us tell an old casting apart from a new one dressed up to look aged.
Before a piece leaves our workshop, we verify that it is solid brass through and through, not a plated or mixed-metal reproduction finished to look the part. Verification notes are kept for every piece, so buyers know exactly what they are getting.
Laboratory Research
For our bigger vessels, lottas and other significant pieces, we go a step further with basic lab checks on surface composition and wear. It helps us date a piece with more confidence, and pass that information on to the buyer instead of guessing.
